Weaning my 6mth DS and he's still getting over 30ozs of milk.
I know i'm being pre emptive but how much does he need up to 12 months ?

What's the minimum at each stage and maximum ? ie is it always anywhere between 12ozs and whatever he takes. I know i'll need to reduce it slowly but i'd love to know what's too little and too much upto 9 months and then upto 12 months.

Any replies greatly appreciated

I'ld say reduce to 18 oz per day by 12 months.

My dd is 7months and should be taking 20oz each day. She rarely manages that much though. The HV told me that 10oz would be worryingly low.

they say a pint of milk - 16 oz ( I think!) is what is necessary for babies up to one year. My dd2 is 7 months and has about 24 oz per day....she loves her milk!

recommended minimum for 6 months to 1 year is 20 ounces (around 600mls) and from 1 year the minimum is 12 ounces (around 350mls). Both these amounts are inclusive of milk used on cereal, in cooking and any dairy products they have too.
