dd3 loves feeding herself, so i do lots of finger foods (toast, breadsticks, chicken strips, carrots, cucumber etc) and then feed her her pud, (usually yoghurt of fruit mush) to make sure majority of it goes in. she wont take lumpy foods off a spoon.

what other foods can i give her?

this is absolutely fine, it's called baby-led weaning and is supposed to be a very good and healthy thing to do. My dd1 was the same, never liked to be fed so I let her do it herself, as well as breastfeeding her (lots).

oh yes, lots of breastfeeds. i do feed her her cereal as she is lazy in the mornings lol.

she loves bagels as well.

Cubes of tofu are nice and soft when raw and interestingly chewy when grilled. Ds used to like things like kidney beans, butter beans, and chickpeas but I think I might have been still taking the outer skin off beans at this stage. (otherwise it would reappear later having been stuck to the roof of his mouth for an hour )

He also loved fried quorn pieces. Cubes of cheese, 'chips' made by baking potato wedges brushed with olive oil, dips made from chickpeas or lentils, slices of avocado, little falafel balls, pitta bread, slices of omelette or tortillas. I think this is a nice stage if they are into trying new foods.

everything can be finger food if you can stand the mess
falafel is good
pasta
couscous

I have just recently discovered spanish omlette as a great finger food - all your leftovers covered in an egg and cooked til firm, then cut into strips.

Oh, and raisins - I used to squash them so he got the idea that they were nice and sweet - he also picks up sticks of banana and apple for his pudding.

DD had to have most things as finger food from about 9 months as she refuses to be spoonfed. She's now 17 months perfectly healthy and eating herself with a spoon.

You should give her more to eat then SweetKitty

(sorry - just made me larf the way it reads at first - lol)
