a story of hope - Come Dine With Me

My ds has a long history of fussy eating. Baby led weaning, everything healthy etc ad nauseam but despite every (over-neurotic?) effort he became a skinny severely restricted pain in the backside fussy eater. He's now 6 and has suddenly hit a rapid increase in both intake quantity and range. And it's all down to a mutual obsession with CDWM. We rate every meal for presentation and taste and he'll now try anything. We can go to any restaurant and he orders to win.

Just went out for lunch and he insisted on trying mushrooms, pork ragout, squid and loads of other stuff just so he could rate it fairly.

I honestly thought he'd grow up with just 2 food groups on his hit list. Has anyone else got a more bizarre solution???

So nice to hear this.

Thanks, lilham. It makes me so happy to see him get fun out of food. I'd still like to see him eat a whole mouthful of a vegetable, a food with 'bits' in (not sure what that means) or a fruit that's not apple or maybe even anything remotely ressembling a pudding. But my delight at what he's eating now reminded me I've not yet moved on from the stress of trying to feed a reluctant child.
