Baby porridge

My ds has been happily munching on solids for several months now, he is 8 1/2 months and eats baby porridge nearly every day but a box doesn't seem to last long as they are so small and it's so expensive. Can he have ready brek with hot cows milk or does that have to wait till he's 1?

You can use ready brek and weetabix from 6mo. No need to pay for the expensive baby stuff. That's what both my HV says and what annabel Karmel has in her book.

my hv recommended ready gbrek from 6 months.

My DD is 7 months and has been having ready brek and weetabix with hot cows milk since 6months. Have also given Quaker oats but blitzed them in blender first to make them a bit finer....

Brilliant thanks everyone! Will do that from now on then. Must have spent a fortune on the baby porridge! Blush Will try him on normal porridge oats to I think

Hi my DD has normal, adult (Flahavans) porridge oats each morning just boiled up with cows milk - takes about 3 minutes. When cooked I then add fruit, usually prunes. She loves it. HTH

readybrek here with breastmilk. nice to add fruit puree to as well, or mashed nana.
