i am currentley weaning my son he is 6 1/2 mnths old he has only ever had four bottles a day, (he is now on 9oz) for a while as he is not keen on milk but would happily sit in his walker with a free flowing beaker an drink a little cooled boiled water ( advised by gp/health visitor) im a little unsure how to set out his day. this is what i have been doing so far.

6.30-7.30 9oz milk

9am porridge an cooled boiled water(free flowing cup)

12.30-13.30 9oz milk

15.00 more food an cool boiled water(free flowing cup)

17.30-18.30 9oz milk

19.00 bath an will want another 9oz an straight to sleep till next day.

i am a first time mum an listening to everyones feedback, my son kinda fell into this routine when we went on holiday an it stayed this way ever since. can someone tell me if im doing it right or wrong????

I think the NHS advice that they need to have at least 500ml of formula before 1yo. As long as he's drinking this amount you don't need to worry. If he's not then you will need to start to put formula in his food.

Sounds fine to me. You might want to think about introducing a 3rd meal in a few weeks, so you might need to change the timings a bit.

Maybe bottle at 11ish
Lunch 1230ish
Bottle 3ish
Dinner 5ish

They are supposed to have at least 20oz until they are 12months, so he is having plenty.

My DD was having 4 7oz bottles at about that age, and as she started eating more the amount of milk she took gradually got less.
