Any reason not to give lumps?

5 1/2 month old is v enthusiastic eater. I mashed banana in a hurry today and it was quite lumpy. It was a big hit. Is there any reason not to start introducing lumpier food this early? Do they need teeth?

they don't need teeth, I can't think of any reason not too, if he can manage it.

No, go for it girl !
Most people really struggle to get their children to eat lumpy food.
Many children refuse, gagg, are sick.
If your child seems to enjoy, then great, continue.

Ds had no teeth until over 12 mths.
Yet he loved lumps right form the beginning and was eating chippolata sausages and grown up fish & chips at 9 mths - REALLY, its true.
