Does anyone know where I can get giant ice cube trays for weaning? The ones from Blooming Marvellous & Jojo are too small. I've seen them on ebay but keep getting out bid!

just use a normal one. If it not enough give them 2 cubes. I got 4 for 99p in a local 99p shop.

Just used regular ice cube trays ! each cube was about a teaspoon.

why not use little pots? i got sets of three little plastic pots with lids from tesco for 1.99 or something (maybe even cheaper)
once we got to the stage where we were giving ds more than say 4-5 ice cubes at a time we switched to using pots.

normal ice cube trays agree .. just decant into freezer bags when frozen

then when they're eating more invest in those avent breastmilk containers .. they're perfect for freezing weaning foods

cubes are too small now. i've been using pots but they take up so much room in the freezer

how old is your LO?
tbh i don't freeze much now as quite often ds eats what we have... he's 10 months

Twiglett · 19/12/2005 21:54

the avent containers stack well

or start using jars and save them then fill them with your own stuff

how old is baby?

Tiggerish · 19/12/2005 21:54

she's 7 months - just on to stage 2

I used old babyfood jars and cellophane lids (used for jam making)

Also just used to use a number of ice cubes instead of just one - in fact I still use them for freezing pixxa sauce for DSs (6 and 4!) and decant them into an icecream tub. Just take out however many I need.

You don't need anything special really.

i've been reusing Hipp jars. avent containers sound good if they stack. are they the ones from the via range?

buy tesco ones! they stack too and are a fraction of the ptice of avent ones.
plus, nowhere seems to sell lids for avent ones
