Big eater?

My HV told me to feed my 6 1/2 month old son as much as he likes, apparently he'd tell me when he'd had enough. Is this the right thing to do? Today he's eaten about 45 ice-cubes of food and his normal amount of breastmilk, and hes still after more.
Any advice would really help

lol@45? seriously... wow, are they small ice cubes?

my dd is same age, I don't do 'ice-cubes' would never feed her. got those plastic round tupperware pots from Asda (33p each) and just put big blobs into then b4 freezing... in saying she nearly polished off a whole jar at lunch time...

she grunts when she wants more, and she spits out when she has had enough, so in a way HV is right they will stop when they have had enough...

... hmm unless its sugary food, and they have carbohydrate addiction... yummy sugar..... drooooooollllll lol......
