dd2 is 9 months tomorrow and will ONLY eat really smooth stuff, its a nightmare, even pureed meat or chicken, she turns her nose up at as it has a slightly grainy texture!!!

She will eat grated cheese by herself and the occaisional rusk but as soon as the lumps reach the back of her throat she gags, throws up and then refuses anymore

We are also not helped by the fact that she is allergic to wheat and egg which rules out alot of stuff

I can't be doing with this pureeing everything lark its getting on my nerves!

HELP!!!

not sure you'll like this but my dd would not eat lumps until 2
I bought a mincer, so I could vary the contents.
Now at 3 she will eat anything.

Hi my DS will be one next week and I have the same problem - he just will not eat anything lumpy - I have tried adding cous-cous, mashed potato. Giving carrots, cheese, dairy-lea soldiers, biscuits, cornflakes (dry on highchair to play with!) melon, cucumber, apple, peaches, toast - even tried weetabix mixed with formula milk but as soon as that gag reflex kicks in he vomits. The HV insists I have to keep trying to de-sensitise the back of his throat but we are now at the stage where he is beginning to refuse any food because he is scared of it!Almost feel like giving up for a bit and trying again in a few weeks! But I dont fancy taking him to school at 4 with a pureed lunch box!So if anyone has been here and got any ideas I'd be grateful for any advice! Thanks ;-)
