hi, i am sorry if this has been covered before but i can not find a similar thread.
anyway the thing is ds is 5 1/2 mths and has been eating a bit of breakfast, dinner and tea for a month or so now, plus 4 9oz bottles of milk a day. he sleeps well through the night and gets enough sleep during the day.
my question is, he is not eating a lot after his milk because he has filled his belly but he is getting hungry before his next feed. how much should i reduce his milk by and how much food should he be eating. at the moment he eats a third of a small jar 3 times a day. i did make my own vey etc but he dint like it.

any ideas are welcome. thank you

jodie - at this age I would say he needs milk more than food anyway. Any food he has at this stage is only 'tastes" and won't give him as much nutrition or calories as milk.

Between 6-12 months he will need 16oz of milk a day. If I were you I wouldn't worry too much at this stage, but from 6 months start increasing the solids gradually (he will let you know if he's had enough or wants more).

If he doesn't like your own food, try mixing it with some from jar intitially and gradually increase the proportions of home-made to jar.
