Dropping a bottle?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help...

My 10 month old DD has three 7 oz bottles of formula a day as well as snacks and her three meals. The first one is at 10 a.m., the second one at 3/4 p.m. and the last one is at 7 p.m. (bedtime). My HV has been saying that she'll eventually want to drop the 3/4 p.m. one.

My LO has recently started to nap around 3 p.m. - should I take this as a sign that she doesn't want it any more, or should I give it to her when she wakes up at 4? The only problem with that is that she's less likely to eat all her dinner at 5 p.m.

Ta!

Why don't you try giving her a smaller bottle at 4pm and then drop the bottle when she is nearer 1yo because they need around 20oz up til they're 1yo.

Brilliant! Thank you for that. Will try today.

alternatively you could give it slightly earlier e.g. 2.30pm so that you are not giving 2 bottle feeds and a meal in the space of 3 hours. Both mine had dropped to 2 feeds by 10 1/2 months.
