Supplementary water...

Hi there,

Over the last three weeks or so, I've been introducing my breastfed five-and-a-half month old to solids in the form of purees, organic baby rice and breast milk.

What's the verdict on offering supplementary water? As of yet, I haven't been but I just read that I should be. She doesn't seem dehydrated - plenty of wet nappies etc, but I'm concerned.

Thanks for your time....

I would offer a small amount of water in a lidded cup - more to get used to the cup than anything else.

Thanks for your reply. Would you use boiled tap water or do you think it's fine straight from the tap?

I think boiled water is recommended up to 6 months but dont know if I would bother if he is 5 1/2 months - tap water would probably be fine.
