First time on baby rice

Going to try LO on some baby rice soon. Is it much easier to wait until weekend so DP can assist? Might be nice for him as he will be able to do more around feeding soon.

I just did this - waited till the weekend. Not because it was any easier, just wanted DH to be there first time to see DD's reaction, and it was quite amusing so I'm glad we did

Same here , we did photos and the full stuff...cute!

madmarchhare · 30/11/2005 11:57

No, it wont really be any easier if someone else is there, it really is quite manageable. However, Im sure it would be good the let DP in on a bit of the 'first time' stuff.

Just don't be too distressed if they hate the rice though, mine refused to eat it, pureed fruit (pear mainly) went down much better

Racers · 30/11/2005 12:12

Mine doesn't like any of it, but it's early days I guess, plus it turns out she's a bit unwell. I think I'll wait until she perks up a bit before I try it again.

Just emailed DP to tell him what HV said and to ask him if he wanted me to wait. He sounded REALLY excited and definitely wants to see it. Bless!

We got the video camera out at the weekend for dds first taste, but will never be able to play it to anyone as it mainly consists of me and dh loudly squabbling over whose turn it is to feed her!

LOL Bobblehead. I watch a friend's weaning vid the other day. V amusing. Wish I'd bought a camcorder when he was born (but not for the labour - couldn't risk anyone else ever seeing that!)

Hoorah. He loved it. He kept openning his mouth like a little baby bird. My baby is turning into a little boy.
