Pearl barley / yellow split peas ok for 6m old?

Was making a big family size vat of chicken soup, mainly to freeze for 2 yr old dd. I chucked in a whole load of soup veg (all suitable for 6m+) and added a handful of pearl barley and yellow split peas each. Any idea if these are suitable for my ds at 6 months? Would like to be more adventurous and less reliant on Annabel Karmel second time around but not sure if these ingredients are ok in small doses.

I think they're fine in small doses.

Are yellow split peas like red lentils: lacking the pea skins? In which case they're lower fibre than regular peas and hence easier?

At any rate, I'm sure they're fine.
