Yaaayyy! My little madam (nearly 7 mo.)who seems to want to feed herself 'ate' or rather wore dahl yesterday and then chewed and sucked home made plantain chips as finger food which I am sooo chuffed she seemed to like.

She is much more interested in food if she can join in with us hence the success with plantain chips.

I am going with you all's suggestion of feeding her bits of what we are having. She gets to 'feed herself' in her highchair when I am busy in the kitchen prepping. Then sitting with us when we eat.

Oh, that's great! It takes a little while for them to get the hang of self-feeding, but it really is easier for you, even if it's not easier for your kitchen floor.

Well-cooked big pieces of pasta (penne, fusilli) have always been a hit with my DS2. At 7 or 8 months, he would eat the bit that stuck out of his fist, but he soon learned to eat it all.
