My baby up until now has eaten everything and anything I have given her. She never refused anything and is quite chubby.

Then she hit one year old and it has been downhill ever since! I dont think she has had a single vegetable in a month! She eats breakfast (porridge or yogurt with fruit) and occasionally I get an egg in her or a banana...but that is it.

She refuses everything else, all the things she previously ate with pleasure. Today has only had a banana and two rice cakes.

What do I do? Any ideas of how to get nutrition in her? She also is not teething so what is the problem? How has she gone off all food apart from fruit?

Mamaesi, has she had her immunisations recently?

When a baby hits around 12 months, their growth slows down dramatically, therefore needing few calories. Don't look at what she eats over a day, look over the week and it may surprise you what she is having. Might be worth just giving her finger foods for a while and letting her munch stuff herself. Small sticks of cheese, cucumber etc, a few steamed veggies, bits of pasta, potatoes. Only needs to be a little bit. Oh, and stop stressing! If she's energetic, a lean, mean, devastation machine who is happy and smiley, plus not losing weight, then she's fine. Grin

I'd second the visitor. Dd1 was a good eater 'till one, and it has been downhill ever since. Now, at 4.5, she still sometimes refuses to pick up a fork at tea time. I have learned to smile and carry on... Sometimes she is cranky and a bit listless but she is by some miracle still following her line on the chart. Dd2 has been a grouches from the word go. She was tucking into steak stolen off my plate at 6 months! However after 12 months she has slowed down too. I can't get her to eat breakfast at all and dinners are a much smaller portion. Don't make the mistake of equating eating with good parenting, it is easy to do. Get a multivitamin to put your mind at rest.
