ready to use formula and baby rice

DS usually drinks a 200ml carton of ready to use formula milk per feed.

He'll be 6 months this week and I'm planning on starting with baby rice.

Do you think it will be OK to use some of the 200ml carton to make up the baby rice and let him drink the rest from his bottle?

Or should we use another carton for the baby rice mix and continue to offer him 200ml as usual?

And then so we don't waste the rest of the carton for the rice, we could store it in the fridge?

I wouldn't bother with rice. It's so bland. Why don't you do BLW? It's so much easier....Smile

I'd give the full milk feed as usual and use some from a different carton for the rice. The carton could then be stored for up to 24 hours in the fridge

As a former carton user, is there a reason you don't use a one litre one? They last up to 48 hours in the fridge.

Thanks guys! Good idea seona1973

Panzee we're using Aptamil 1 and they only do a 200ml size carton. Don't know why - on the carton it actually says that when they're older they might need 210ml at a feed!
