dd3(6m ) & tagliatelle for tea.

Sucked it in , looked very surprised so I clapped. She opened her mouth in a grin & it fell out. Then spent 20 mins trying to do it again.

DD, 8.5 months, had polenta and veg and bean casserole for dinner. Was sucking some courgette to death and ate some polenta too. She has mastered the pincer grip, so can pick up beans and peas too!

DD (7mths) eating Organix sweetcorn hoops, me putting them on all her fingers like I do with hulahoops rings, cue her trying to put all her fingers in her mouth at the same time

DS (6.5months) having yoghurt as part of his lunch - bypassing the preloaded spoon and just putting his whole fists in the bowl. Then giving himself a facial!

My DD bypassed the spoon by putting her face in her carrot soup and slurping it up that way! She actually ate loads of it, as well as turning orange for the rest of the day.

DD (6m) at a NCT reunion BBQ, sucking on a piece of steak much to the amazement of all the other purree feeding parents. 20 mins later she gave up and spat out a very dried up piece of meat.

DS (7mo) sticking a whole piece of asparagus in his mouth and then beaming at me with a big green fang sticking out either side!

We haven't started properly yet as DS2 is only 5mths but he loves to grab and we're letting him lick/suck anything we're eating that's appropriate. He was sat on my lap on Sunday over the roast dinner and was flapping to get at the plate so I gave him a little spoon covered in the roasted sweet potato and he went to town! Got more of it on his face than in his mouth but he LOVED it. Once he lost interest in that, I gave him a brocolli stalk and he happily sucked away on that. Found some brocolli specks in his nappy the next day so he did get some off!

I wasn't 100% certain BLW was going to work (DS1 was puree fed) but this has really given us confidence :)

She takes all sorts of things whole that she refused as purees.

DD (7 month) eating mashed potato - just dug both her hands in, pulled out a massive clump and shoved it in her face like a hamburger! And grinning hugely while doing it :)

Oh and arguing with my Mum who tried to put a piece of avocado straight into DD's mouth, ignoring my futile attempts to explain BLW to her, and said to me 'don't be silly, she can't possibly feed herself' whereupon DD pushed my mum's hand away, calmly picked up a piece of avocado and ate the whole thing. If she could talk I think she would have said something like, 'In your face, Granny!'

I love watching DD getting on with it, today she tackled an apricot with gusto. She doesn't like more than one thing in front of her at a time though so it can be a slow old process. She had custard for the first time at lunch today and loved it.

9mo DS just figured how to load a spoon, (rather than take a preloaded spoon off me to eat) he now wants to eat everything with a spoon. Last night he spent half an hour chasing brocolli florets and apple slices around his tray with the tip of the spoon.

7m0 DD having two pieces of chicken protruding from her mouth so that it looked liked she had two massive, wonky, goofy teeth. She then sat there impassively staring at me while I fell about laughing.
