How to keep half used bananas?

My baby has mashed banana at the moment as one of the first foods I am trying her on. But we only use a small chunk of banana each time - any tips for keeping the rest of the banana fresh? I have a banana guard so it isn't squashed all over my bag, but once unpeeled how long can a banana last?

I have kept them for 24 hours you might need to cut the end off but if you just peel down to where you need it, it should last but in this hot weather might not.

Just cut the whole thing in half through the skin, then peel the half you need and keep the other half in the fridge. The other half should be fine for a few days, then just cut off the dried cut end, and the rest will be fine!

Store 1 meal sections in a sealed tupperware pot filled with orange juice?

I've never tried this but was taught to make fruit salad with orange juice to stop the banana going brown.

I never thought to keep the bit DD doesn't eat, I just gobble it myself!

I think it's fine to keep half in the peel and then just break off the bit that's gone brown and use the rest. I don't even put it in the fridge.

if it's long enogh, about half a banana's worth, freeze it. the frozen banana makes the most brilliant teething "ring". it naturally splits into three long-ways and so the baby can hold it and they like the cold and taste in their mouths
