Stupid question re heating puree

This really is stupid but here goes...

I dont want to use jars of puree (wishful thinking Im sure) so what do I do about heating up my home made puree when Im out? Will a baby take it cold, ie defrosted but not heated? And if Im at home and its not defrosted properly, can I microwave?

Hi,

Not a stupid question. Though Ellas kitchen do do some handy pouches for those days when you can't be bothered you're unprepared.

Some places will either let you use a microwave - few and far between these days though National trust venues usually still have them. Or some pubs have given us a bowl of hot water. ( not ideal with a toddler at the table though ) Or if you give your baby room temperature food at home, they may just be used to it and eat it anyway.
On a picnic at the weekend I took a flask of hot water and a small bowl.

I use a microwave to defrost if I have forgotten to get it out of the freezer.

Things like banana are quite good for taking out as you can mush it up inside the skin, iyswim.

My DS likes it room temp and always has - likes it better that way than warmed to be honest. Sure if you just try and give DC some room temp ones then they will get used to it.

do BLW and just offer finger foods.
small finger sandwiches are perfect out and about food for a baby

My DS also likes room (or fridge) temperature food.

Actually, he had some warm (not hot!) food a couple of days ago, and pulled a very shocked face Confused. We might need to work on that in the future...
