hi,

just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for picnic food for baby 11-12months. DS has only really had homecooked food/warm food however, we'd love to take him for a picnic but am not sure what sort of sandwiches/ food he could have apart from fruit/chopped veg. he's not allowed dairy, and i'm not sure what types of cold meat they can have- if any.

thanks

How about:

sandwiches - ham, tuna, peanut butter
hard boiled eggs
rice cakes
cold pasta salad
couscous
cold chicken
breadsticks
cakes/muffins

Strips of omelette? My DS loved Spanish tortilla at that age (won't eat it now though Hmm).

Our picnic lunch with DD 11m today consisted of hard boiled eggs, strips of cucumber and carrot and radish and houmous to dip them in, ham and tomato sandwiches, bananas, strawberries and erm chocolate eggs (but she only had a little bit).

She ate a whole egg and nibbled at some fruit and veg but mainly waved the sandwiches around. There was jousting going on which required a great deal of pointing. Take a washable rug and be aware that babies covered in houmous love to cuddle.
