Started BLW a couple of weeks ago, DD still on about 6-7 breast feeds per day and just taking in bits and pieces of finger foods. Since she does sometimes have rice cake/bread/omelette and the like in between I have started offering her tiny bits of water once in a while, also because she loves her doidy cup.

She really seems to love water, I only give her about 1 oz, is it ok to give more? There is no worry weight or calory wise really because she was born on 50th and made her way up to 98th percentile while being ebf, so I am not worried about her losing weight if she replaces milk with water or anything, I am just wondering how you decide? she seems to really love it and it looks like she would drink much more water if she could?

i am giving her cucumber/melon etc as well and the rice cakes she gets are unsalted so I don't know why she seems to love water so much? or is it the fun of the doidy cup? or the hot weather?

It sounds like she is doing really well with her BLW.
I wouldn't worry about how much water she wants. She probably needs quite a bit in this weather, but more than that, she is probably just enjoying learning a new and interesting skill; drinking.
Many parents worry that they can't get enough water into their children, so you might be lucky that she likes drinking.
Don't worry about the excess liquid, she will pee out what she doesn't need and it is unlikely to effect her BFing.
If it does start to effect it, you might want to cut it down, but as long as there is no negative effect, don't worry.
