What happens if baby doesn't seem interested?

DS is 5 months and I'm not weaning yet so this is hypothetical. But, what if he gets to 6 months and he's still not showing signs of being ready to wean? How long would you leave it before forcing the issue? I would worry about his iron stores mainly. He isn't sitting up well enough yet and he watches me eating but doesn't grab for things.

If he's started to watch you eating, then I'd say he's starting to become more aware and getting ready. However, if he's not interested at 6 months, I really wouldn't worry too much. Some babies are really interested earlier than 6 months and some not until 8 months.

Try to go with the flow and not worry.

Leave it and try again in a couple of weeks.
