hello, i have a 3yo and a 5mo. my dd (5mo) was weaned a little early as she was just sooo hungry, this was the case for my ds too. iv forgotten at what age my ds dropped a bottle. my dd is doing great with solids and cant get enough. she has been ebf but has been having expressed milk for about 6 weeks now. she sleeps all night from 7pm til 7am ish and has 2x 2hr naps in the day. she has been having 4 feeds a day but has really gone off her milk especially the 3pm feed. is now the time to drop it and maybe give lunch a little later?

I'd try not to drop milk intake until after 6 months. How much milk is she having in total?

shes getting about 20oz a day without the 3pm feed and 23oz (if we're lucky) including the 3pm feed

Wow, can I just say that I am very Envy. Sleeping right through the night and having 2x 2hour naps in the day. That would be my dream come true.

I have absolutely no helpful advice about milk feeds but just had to say how lucky you are to have such a 'good sleeping' DD Envy Smile

It's nice to hear that such babies do actaully exist Grin

23oz a day is about right for breastmilk (babies under 6 months average 25oz a day), and 20oz a day is the amount of formula they're supposed to have from 6-12 months. I'd probably try to keep the 3pm feed til she's 6 months then go down to three feeds.

haha ellabella my ds was just the same. iv friends children that are a nightmare at bed time, i dont know how i would cope, very lucky!!

thank you ritamorgan thats really helpfull. the past 2 days i haven't given her , her 3pm feed and she has woken in the night so its obviously too early. maybe il try to give her a little less solids ( shes on alot) to keep that afternoon feed going a bit longer.
