My 9 mth old desparately wanted to have a taste of her sisters ice cream earlier. Is Mr Whippy style ice cream safe, I vaguely remember about not having it when pregnant due to risk of listeria so would assume this would apply to babies too.

hmm. is there a higher chance of food poisonin or similar due to the ice cream pipes not being very effectively cleaned out maybe?

I also remember hearing that it can be very dodgy if not made properly - it's basically a powder that is mixed with water and then frozen.

It would probably be OK from a controlled place like Maccy-Ds, but from a grubby van on the corner.....hmmm.

Since I saw a documentary in which an icecream van driver scraped the mould off the Mr W before the weekend I've shyed away from icecream vans,pg or not. If it was in MacD or somewhere with a high turnover it would be fine.
