We never seem to have been totally confident with the whole weaning process. 10 mo ds would much rather have a bottle all the time but will eat solid food at meal times. However he has become more and more difficult about eating it - have to have huge variety of distractions on the high chair to try and keep him occupied, else all he does is cry for his bottle - so it ends up being few mouthfuls of bottle, couple of spoonfuls of food and so it continues!! He is also really reluctant to try new foods, no matter how many times I seem to try them. Tried various fruits, half the time he wont even put them in his mouth!!!! What can I do to help improve this???

Is he interested in your food as dd plays up too.but if i put the food in my plate n use metal spoon she thinks shes being crafty eating my food. And once shes used to the taste shes ok.

Does he have a weight issue?

If not, don't push it with the solids. If you do it will only become a battlefield which will get worse. Let him go at his own pace. Some children just take longer to "get it" than others. Also, forget the distractions. Try to make the food seem more interesting and if he prefers milk, that's also fine at this age.
