Hello ladies!Hope somebody can help me. Started weaning my ebf 6 month old baby a month ago with purees at lunchtime. For the first 2 weeks he ate it all and seemed to be enjoying it but over the last 3 weeks he refuses eating and doesnt even open his mouth when he sees me with the spoon. Ive given him some finger food as well like banana and bread and again no luck. Im so worried. Ive tried vegetables/ fruit homemade purees and the supermarket ones but to no avail. Has anyone experienced this? I just dont know what to do to move forward!! Please help!!

DD2 didn't really take to solids till about 8 months. I don't think they need a lot at that age. Just keep offering - if he's hungry he'll eat it. So long as he's healthy and gaining weight I wouldn't worry.

Thank u for your reply. Im a bit unsure about when it's the best time to offer him food. He breastfeeds every 4 hours so should I offer solids just before or after a feed?

Welcome to my world Lia. My name is all over the weaning board due to the problems I am having. My LO is 9m and hardly eats a thing, totally refuses the spoon. However at nursery he eats off a spoon and eats well. At home he refuses anything but finger food which he only nibbles a bit.

I think you should offer solids after a feed so that they aren't desperate for milk but not too close as to when they last had some if you see what I mean.

I keep hoping things will improve soon. I am sure it will and for you too. Milk is the most important thing for them at 6 months anyway so try not to fret.
