sore tummy since weaning started

Hi my 6 month old has started to be weaned. We started when he was 25 weeks as he seemed ready ( I spoke to HV and GP). He is now 28 weeks and we have tried porridge, baby rice, several root veggies and some fruit purees. He seems to love it ( mostly...except apples!), but overnight he seems to have a sore tummy with trapped wind. He eventually passes the wind and by morning is back to his usual happy self....He is mainly breast fed but am introducing daytime formula ( 2 bottles a day) as I am back to work next week.
Anyone else experienced the same? He can roll both ways now, so is getting more mobile. I have just been giving infacol for the trapped wind.
Thanks

My DS got bad trapped wind the first few weeks. I bf him when he woke as it helped him get the wind out. It did subside, although he still gets it a bit if he eats certain things for dinner (cabbage, onions) and he's 15 months.

Massaging the stomach helps too.

I started weaning my DS when he was 5 1/2 months with purees and he got really badly constipated and was very uncomfortable. After a couple of weeks of this I cut out solids all together for several days and am now mainly giving him finger foods. He is 6 1/2 months now and seems to be getting on much better with finger foods as he isn't actually ingesting much food, just playing and chewing on it. With purees his eyes were much bigger than his belly and he would have woofed down endless amounts Hmm

I am not strictly doing BLW but a mix of purees and finger food. An eclectic mix of both approaches that seems to work best for me and DS Smile Several friends I have spoken to have said they swapped to BLW after their babies had problems with trapped wind/constipation on purees.
