Finger food ideas...

My DS is 7.5 months and seems to be loosing interest in pureed food. I want to try some finger food but not sure what to try...

Also, he's teething and has a cold so pretty much off food this week, its a real struggle to get him to eat a meal. Anyone else had this?

Thanks :)

If he's having plenty of milk then I wouldn't worry too much about food while he's poorly

I do slices/sticks or fruit (pear, mango, kiwi and banana have all been well received)

Fingers of toast, rice cakes, pasta twists, omlette cut in strips, cooked carrot, courgette, pepper

Pretty much anything really that I'm eating as long as he can pick it up and it has no added salt or sugar

I'm having the same trouble... putting it down to my DS wanting more independence (as well as teething)! Same as marzipan, am offering sticks of cooked veg (not so much raw fruit, as he doesn't like things which are too soft). Rice cakes are a big hit -- you can spread stuff on them too. Broccoli a big winner, as are fine beans.

Thanks ladies, will give it ago.

Queenada - I have just let him "feed himself" (I'm still holding onto spoon but he thinks he is!) and he ate the whole lot! Think you've got a good point about the independence thing!
