Advice please!! When to introduce solids during feeds??

Okay... I've worked out what to introduce and at which feed but what I don't understand (becoz every book I read has conflicting advice) is when to introduce the solids.
Is it: a) before milk b) after baby has had part of their milk or c) after they have finished their milk?
Any advice appreciated! Ta!

I think before milk as then you can soothe the baby afterwards with milk.

I would give it after baby has had part of their milk. Or at a separate time from milk entirely.

If DD is well hunry she get's milk first, if she stops her bottle half way through then she gets it then and if she isn't screeming for her bottle she gets food first - so in my case all of them

how about an hour or so after milk? Anything as long as their not either starvingly hungry or stuffed full when you try to give them the solids really.

I found separately from the milk the easiest as ds didn't particularly like stopping a milk feed halfway through (I was bfing).

I always fed dd/ds first to take edge off hunger, gave tastes of whatever, then another milk feed... like a sandwich, really.

i give an hour after milk, sometimes more milk straight afterwards too (bf). have found ds can't use solids to quell hunger yet, just gets all screamy if empty.

my hv said to give food about an hour after milk feed as they should be relaxed then. i did that and it worked. by the time he was five and half months he began to take solids when hungry and i didnt have to run to get a bottle ready!

Thanks for everyone's (different!) suggestions.
I do like the advice about giving solids at a separate time to milk feeds. My DD complains if a milk feed is stopped and I can't see her taking to solids before a feed nor afterwards when she is stuffed. So the giving solids an hour later idea is great and might work best for my DD. Better get on with the purees....
