12 month old vomits after every meal

Hi
I wonder can you help me please?

My 12 month old vomits after every meal. She has been like this since she was born, although the number of times she vomits has cut down from at least 20 times a day (seriously) to maybe once or twice after each of her meals (both solid and milk feeds).

Her weight is ok, is gaining, but it has slowed right down from the 75th/50th to the 25th centile. She seems to have lots of energy although she lies flat on the ground every now and then.

I am getting very worried though as it doesn't seem normal. When she was younger I did mention it to the GP and HV a few times but they were unconcerned, but surely she should have grown out of it by now?

I think you should go back to your GP/HV and insist that they help you. It could be reflux and there is lots of medication than she can take. Otherwise, do you think it might be behavioural? Does she gag before vomiting or only vomiting half an hour or so after the meal? Does she vomit a lot or just spit up a bit?

What do you mean that she lies flat on the ground every now and then? Is she moving when she does this?

She doesn't gag, and it doesn't seem to bother her. She vomits a little while after eating/drinking, sometimes a few minutes, sometimes a half hour. It's not a lot, but it does happen more or less consistently. I'm not sure what you mean by behavioural.

When I say lying flat on the floor I mean she just seems to get tired and lie flat and still for a moment or so. It's just unusual for her as she is so lively and I wondered could she just be exhausted from not getting enough nutrition due to the vomiting. I'm not sure if it's relevant, but it just is a bit odd.

I've a doc appointment tomorrow and if they say "oh it's normal" I shall scream because no other baby I know does this.

GP thinks its reflux. Glad it's nothing more serious.
