Should I worry that he's nowhere near dropping a bottle?

HV keeps asking if 10 mo ds has dropped any milk feeds yet. He currently has 5 bottles - 5 oz at 6 am, 4 oz with breakfast, about 4 oz at lunch and again at tea and 9 oz before bed. He loves his bottle and is nowhere near dropping any of them. Should I be worried, or will he just get there in his own time?

The only reason to drop the milk would be if he was filling up on that in preference to solids. If he eats the solids and drinks the milk, why worry?

He'll get there in his own time. My ds didn't drop a feed until 10 months. I wasn't worried - he was eating great

That sounds like a lot of milk. Is he very big? If he's staying on his centile line it's probably fine, but if he's moving up centiles it might be worth asking your HV's advice to make sure he doesn't get overweight.

He's a little chubber, but has stayed on his centile line, has always been lovely and round!!! Every time HV mentions it she recommends he drinks water - however, we have been trying water for months, he wont drink it!!!
