Help - my 12 month old has given up eating!

My ds, who was one last week, has stopped eating (in favour of lots of breastfeeding). We did BLW and he was doing pretty well - two decent meals a day and a dabble at breakfast time, and he was reducing the amount of breast feeds he was having, which suited me well. For the last week or ten days, he's just been playing with his food at mealtimes and breastfeeding all night to make up for it. Just a phase? Should I be worried? How can I encourage more eating?

Just a phase! He's realised he doesn't actually have to eat if he doesn't want to ThankYouVeryMuch!

He will start up again. Just be patient, offer lots, eat together. I found actually sharing a plate really helped around this age. Either with her sat on my lap, or me sat right up to her highchair with the plate in front of her. Feed each other, have fun over the food - "Oh! That was my bit!" etc

This too shall pass.

Thank you, Justalittleblackraincloud! That's very reassuring. I tried your suggestion today (and he DID eat a little bit), and I noticed I've been getting really uptight about it. I'll try and not worry and make it more fun for both of us. Thanks!
