Consistency for purees and baby rice!

Hi,

We have started on the baby rice recently. We added the "right" amount of milk and it wad thicker than I imagined it would be so I added a splash more milk, the further we got into the feed the thinner it became, unsure if more stirring watered it down or what?! How thick should the baby rice be? We're also starting carrots at the weekend....what kind of consistency should purees like this be?

Thanks

I was told by HV that baby rice should be the consistancy of single cream when you first start weaning. You can then make it thicker as baby gets used to it.

How old is your baby? If they are more than 6 months then they can cope with thick purees if less than 6 months then start with very thin purees and see how you get on.

make it whatever consistency that your lo can cope with. carrots can be quite watery so you may need to thicken it (you can use baby rice as a thickener)
