Weaning while teething!

My baby is 22 weeks old and is teething which is resulting in lots of horrible vinegar smelling nappies-about 6 times a day!! Last week she was off her food a bit and had these horrible nappies and lost 0.5oz after usually gaining around 7oz a week!

However, this week she is downing 7oz a feed 6 times a day. She's always had 6-7 bottles but has never polished each one off! She also wants feeding again after 2 - 2.5 hours. In all other ways she is ready for food, she holds things and puts them in her mouth, makes chewing actions when we're eating, holds her head up well and sits in the highchair brilliantly.

I think she is ready for food now but are we silly to start today if she is still doing all these horrible poos? We won't know if something doesn't agree with her. We wondered about doing some baby rice today as surely there's nothing in that that can bother her?! Ideally we'll be doing a mix of purees and finger food once we're settled!

What do you think?

Sounds like she's having a growth spurt if she's knocking back all that milk. I'd probably ride that out first, if I were you. If she's having a grow, then milk is what she needs anyway.

have you tried the hungrier baby milk? DD went through a huge growth spurt and it felt like she had a bottle in her mouth all day long! went onto hungry milk which seemed to let her go longer between feeds and then she stopped taking it when it seemed to be over, just refused to take it, but went back to normal milk!
