Started solids and now DD is being arsey about taking her bottle

Title says it all really. DD is coming up for 6 months and we started weaning a few weeks ago. As far as solids are concerned, it's all going swimmingly. She loves her food and has really got the hang of it. But she's started to get less interested in her bottles. So I'm wondering why and what to do about it. She's on neocate (which is foul) so maybe her tastebuds are waking up and she's realising that she doesn't like this muck that we've been making her drink all these months?? I know that at this age she should be getting most of her nutrition through her milk - should I be worried? Any advice? Thanks!

Just keep offering the milk, maybe smaller bottles more often?

There really is no rush to drop the milk.

She might just be having a jiggle about with her routine a little bit whilst she gets used to the addition of solids.

Offer food an hour after her milk feed, so she's not filling up on solids. How much milk is she having?

My ds is breastfed but he went from 8-9 feeds in 24 hours to 6 within a month of weaning.

Remember you can add lots of milk to her food too.

have been doing solids an hour before food. will try the other way around. thanks! she's on 5 bottles a day (which is what she was on before weaning). before weaning she was having 180-210 ml per feed. now she is having about 610 ml per day. she's had all sorts of gastric problems and was vomiting quite a lot - so she wasn't keeping down all of her feeds. she's now vomiting much much less - we even have completely dry days!! - so she retains much more of what she drinks. she has 2 solid meals per day in addition to her milk of about 50 mls each. she eats this very enthusiastically and bangs her leg to ask for more. i was thinking of adding a third meal and making this one with quite a bit of her formula. i think she is just under 7.5 kilos - has been following the 50th centile line pretty consistently.

610mls is absolutely fine - they need 500-600ml a day after 6 months, though I have friends whose babies take less than this in bottles so they give them lots of milky/dairy food to compensate.

OK - that's useful to know! Thanks!
