For the past 2 weeks I have been giving my dd fruit and veg purees, after the hv told me it would be ok, my dd is now 6 months and i was wondering if it is ok to give her toast, buttered cut into soldiers, or even without butter......i have been looking it up on the net and just keep coming up with different advice, some sayin definatley not some saying you should and some saying its up to the parent, i was just wondering what everyone else thinks, i will be greatful for any advice thankyou :) x x

if your lo is 6 months then toast with/without butter is fine. You can also give other finger foods e.g. pasta, cooked veg, soft fruits, etc, etc. All you need to avoid is honey, runny eggs, highly salted foods, whole nuts, unpastuerised foods, etc

Seona is spot on.

Get unsalted butter if you can, otherwise spread it thinly.
