Blw from 5 months. I was really going to wait at least till 6 or 7 months but DD was ready. Started giving her cooled carrot and cucumber sticks when teething and realised she was actually chewing and swallowing the cucumber without problems, especially when i found cucumber skin in her nappy :-). She is 5.5months now an has fed herself omelette and baguette by now as well. She really loves bread. Oh and this morning she sucked on a piece of apple as well.

I was going to continue breastfeediging and am not weaning to replace her milk intake but given the pace at which blw is progressing with her it might happen anyway.

Dd will start nursery full time next month when i go back to work, but i will tell them not to feed her purees unless she asks for it and to always give her the milk first. The only challenge is she doesnn't take bottles so i am trying to get her used to sippy cups now.
