My DD is just 8 months. I'm doing a mix of spoon and finger foods, and looking for inpiration of things to put on toast, as it is her favourite! Can I give her marmite? How about nutella?

Thanks

they all should be ok in small amounts from 6 months.

I think marmite has quite a lot of salt. I know vegemite does... although I suppose she won't be having much of it. We have used philadelphia, cashew nut butter, peanut butter, normal cheese etc with dd and she loves philadelphia, not fussed re nuts and hates jam with a passion! At 8 months she can have pretty much anything you'd put on toast except honey I think.

hummus is a hit here, mashed up avocado, cooled dahl, philadelphia, and pretty much any sauce or gravy that me and DH are eating - all get smooshed onto rice cakes or toast!

Ooh and he loves Peanut butter. Health foody shops sell the type that's JUST mashed up peanuts, and no salt or other cheaper oils to fill it up.

Hmmm. Cashew nut butter sounds good. I might get some other nut butters to scoff for him to try. :)

Thanks for the suggestions - I'm off out for some avocados and philadelphia!! I hate peanut butter, so couldn't bear to have her smelling of it, so will leave thst to when she visit's her auntie!!

everythingchanges - I wouldn't feed her just sugary things, but I'm not scared of sugar as part of a varied diet. And I clean her teeth (all 4 of them!).
