7 month old not coping with BLW or any lumpy food

DS will basically start gagging when he has anything in his mouth other than totally smooth purees and then regurgitates what looks like an entire weeks stomach contents - there is so much of it!

It happens whether he is sucking on a banana or carrot and a bit comes off into his mouth or whether he is having slightly lumpier food. I then have to give him an hour and refeed him smooth purees.

It's driving me nuts and I am about to say sod it and just give him purees! Any advice?

How long have you been weaning him? Is he pretty new at all this? After 6 months you can go straight to mashing stuff rather than starting with pureeing - does he gag on mashed food too? Can you mix some mash with puree so it's not all thick and introduce it to him slowly?
