nightmare fussiness

My DD is a nightmare when it comes to food. We started BLW at 6 months and the first weeks were amazing - she tried everything loved everything and I felt so happy it was all great. The at about 7 1/2 months we had total solids strike and then after about a month she started trying stuff but only yoghurts and ella's kitchen stage 1.

She is now 18 months. There have been odd days where she's eaten chicken or prawns (none for 5 months or so granted) but apart from that she eats almost no protein. She'll eat brown toast and peanut butter most days, marmite rice cakes, chocolate cake, ella's kitchen stage 1 pouches (but no other baby type food or soup), jaffa cakes, rice crispies, shreddies (dry) apples (occasionally) and petit filous. That's it. She loved ready brek til a month ago when she decided it was "eugh yuk"

aargh I keep on offering but she just flings it to the floor +/- screams and sobs. She'll go all day without eating some days. Nursery try - not much more success there. She's thriving, 2nd centile for weight and height (has been since birth) and was breastfed til 15 months. She has milk at bedtime and at wake up but not any other time. Developing fine - chatty bright loving etc

any ideas? or ideally any been there come out the other side stories?

I'm just being calm outwardly but inwardly I am dispairing

Make the food, stick it in front of her, set a timer for what you consider a reasonable amount of time, say, 30 mins. Explain that when the bell rings, the food will be taken away and nothing else will be served. Give her regular timekeeping updates along the lines of a while yet, or oh dear, just a tiny bit left. When the bell rings, take the food away and offer nothing else. It will involve lots of screaming initially but it will work.
