dropping food

I should know how to do this by now but don't so excuse the stupid questions - I've not been out loads since weaning due to illness so am pretty used to eating at home.

Have been doing blw for 3 months and DD loves it, eats quite a bit. Have noticed though that when we go out and use a high tray or she sits on my lap, she throws/drops so much food, mainly because she's used to dropping the food on her tray at home, then picking it up - but most places tend to have those highchairs that pull up to the table, which doesn't quite work for that!

Will this just get better as she gets older? It's so much easier at home!

Secondly, how do people eat 'on the go'. In the pushchair? I'm not sure how we'd do it unless we were at a cafe etc.

These are dim questions I know Blush

It does get better, just slowly! I tended to just make sure I had plenty of food to offer her when we were out to accomodate her need for chucking half of it over board.

I think some people take a mat out with them to put under the highchair, but I never bothered.

As for on the go, we just parked up wherever really. I don't use a pushchair, just a sling, so never had that option. We'd just plonk on a bench, or go to a cafe...once the weather is nicer it's a bit easier as you can just have a little picnic.
