Hi there,
does anyone had a problem with baby rice causing allergy? My dd is 23 weeks old and i started given solids about 2 weeks ago. tried different vegs and fruit which she likes. and for breakfast i give her organic baby rice mixed with her usual milk. now she started to have a rash all over her chest, belly, arm and legs.HV told me it could be ecema triggered by the food and i should start simple and give her for now only baby rice. i did that for the last 2 days but it has got worse and she starts to scratch. going to doctors tomorrow. but i just wonder if anyone else experienced this before?thanks

It can take up to 2 weeks for an allergen or intolerant food to get out of the system. Is she BF or FF? If FF and she's been ok so far it's unlikely to be cow's milk that's the problem. Some fruits can trigger a reaction but it's rare.

Baby rice has no nutritional value (the added vits are already in BM or F so pointless) so I see no real value in giving it myself - although there's no real downside either as long as she's getting plenty of milk feeds.

My dog is allergic to rice, mind, so it's not unheard of!

I would pop over the the allergy forums as there's loads of really experienced people there.

Could it be something you're washing her in? Or a change of washing powder? Baby lotion?
