This thread is encouraging!!!
DD is just over 4 months (bust she was born at 42 weeks) and has started reaching out to grab all my food. Today I let her have a stick of cucumber for the very first time (I was eating it as a snack with tzatziki, which I didn't let her have!)... and she LOVED it! She sucked of all the inside seeds off one and then took another!
What else is good and not "chokable"? gourd - roast squash etc sounds good!
I am keen to do mostly BLW but alongside some spoon feeding. However, I read the article in the BMJ on 22nd Jan (we get the GP version of the BMJ) and, as a result of that, want to start weaning in a couple of weeks rather than waiting till 6 months. Also feel its right because DD is on 99.6th centile and currently needing breast feeds (she's ebf) every 2 hours, night and day, has done for 4 weeks... somewhat exhausting
Has anyone else tried this sort of combination weaning before 6 months? the BLW book is very forcefully "wait till 6 months", which I have decided not to do with DD, and the leaflets etc at the HV clinic are all focussed around purees only, which I am also not keen on!! A little confused here...!
