Worried I'm feeding my baby too much

This weaning malarky is pretty stressful! We started offering solids about a month ago (DS is nearly 7 months). I had planned to do BLW but DS got frustrated very easily and so we ended up mashing stuff and spoonfeeding alongside finger foods. He's actually getting much better at finger foods but still really likes to be spoonfed. Over the last week or so he seems to have really got the hang of eating and has ramped up the amount he'll take. He doesn't really seem to have dropped any breastfeeds yet, and I am getting a bit paranoid that he's eating too many solids. I was so prepared for BLW and convinced of all the arguments for doing it - babies will regulate their own appetites etc. I also find it hard to work out when DS is full - I tend to carry on offering until he doesn't seem interested any more.

Today, for example, he had:

Half a weetabix with full fat cow's milk
A corner of toast
A few bits of satsuma

A mini ricecake

A small bowlful of what we had for dinner last night mashed together (potatoes, carrot, swede, brussels sprouts, a little bit of ham and a little bit of parsley sauce)

A scrambled egg
Half a slice of granary bread with butter
About 3/4 of a banana

It doesn't sound so bad like that but it felt like a lot of food!

Sounds exactly like my dd. have not contemplated blw but as second child am much more relaxed about whta she does. She does seem to eat more than dd1. Weaned dd2 at 5 months and she very quickly was on 3 meals a day. IME after a couple of weks they suddenly get food and want more. a baby won't over eat. when they're ful they'll stop.

My dc1 used to eat a lot at 7m, the HV said he'd be sick if he ate too much. As long as he's eating lots of different things ( which your dc is OP) he'll be fine.

Cool, I will try to chill out about it. Just don't want to overfeed him... Actually I think he is BFing less in the day now (though I;d rather he BFed less at night instead!).
