homemade baby food delivery?

Is there such a thing as a homemade baby food delivery company? I've had a google but can't find any companies that offer this service?

If there are no such companies, or if there are relatively few, do you think that if the product was top notch, and the price and delivery structure was ok, it would be a good business idea?

Don't want to go back to work, and spend every waking hour cooking anyway...

It's hard to imagine how you could compete on price with the likes of Plum and Organix. Also have you looked into the accreditation you might need to sell baby food? I imagine the rules re hygene etc would be pretty strict, I don't think you could do it in a home kitchen.

I remember seeing ads for a few in the back of NCT magazines ages ago..

My DCs are long past weaning age, but we did BLW with DD and it's becoming more popular, which negates cooking special meals for your baby.

when I did do puree , it was no bother, well, i did batch cooking and freezing, and if i wanted something quick, i used organic jars

so it's a no from me

i am not sure how you could compete price wise with a commercial enterprise and there would be all sorts of food hygeine factors to look at

ds1 and ds2 ate pretty much what we ate from the start.

When I weaned my eldest there were quite a few companys who advertised in the back of magazines but in those days most babies were weaned at 16 weeks and there was a bigger need for special baby meals. Now the reccomended age is 26 weeks there isn't as much call as most babies will have finger food or whatever the rest of the family is eating. I wouldn't be going out of my way to buy 'homemade' baby food when I can get Plum or organix in Tesco and not have to think about storing it and defrosting it when I go out.

Not really because a) I would find it a faff to do a separate order for baby only food aswell as adult food shopping. b) don't babies just eat adult food with some minor alterations?

There are actually quite a lot of companies doing this these days. Many busy parents are using them as a way of knowing their children are getting "real" food, full of nutrients, flavour and taste. Many products you can defrost from frozen. Here's some examples: www.babybites.co.uk, www.so-baby.co.uk there are lots more if you search "frozen baby food delivery". Lots of supermarkets are also branching out into frozen baby and children's meals as awareness increases that the regular supermarket baby and children meals have been pasteurised and can last for years on a shelf at room temp.
