How long to leave food (BLW)

We've started BLW today (!) but I wanted to ask how long I should leave the food infront of DD until I take it away (she's obviously not eating it yet..). I put it on her tray, and she plays with it,but then when do I remove it? Don't really want to wait for her to start crying/getting fed up/bored (want to keep it fun) but also don't want to take it away before she's done...

Any advice welcome

Thanks

For as long as you are eating your own meal. Just think of it all as sitting down to eat with someone where you are both served together, and plates are cleared together - its good modelling for her too

She'll probably let you know somehow. My DS is 8 months and I always know he is finished when he starts waving his arms around in the air, as if to say 'i can't bear to even touch this stuff'!

If he just looks bored I sometimes try him with something different but convenient, like a chunk of cheese.

i found that they generally let you know when they have lost interest!
