Which fruit is safe for an 8 mo? I have some cherries but not sure if they are ok ( remember vaguely reading something about red fruit before a year?)

I think pretty much everything is ok from 6 months. Some fruits can be allergenic e.g. strawberries, raspberries, kiwi, etc but you can still give them while looking out for a reaction

Just try things and keep an eye out for reactions. Satsumas were a big favourite with DD - she must have picked up my pregnancy craving.

Cherries are fine. I have never heard anything about red fruit....

Take the stones out though, eh?

LostInTransmogrification · 31/01/2011 18:29

Thanks all, think I got mixed up with allergic reactions to strawbs!

RJandA, will do Grin

I wouldn't give a baby under a year strawberries, kiwis or pineapple but everything else I'd try

My baby reacted to apples and pears, so I never got as far as strawberries or kiwi Grin
