12 Month old won't chew

Please help, my 1 year old will simply not eat anything that has to be chewed and will even spit out rice if it is not soft enough. We did not do BLW as he had very bad reflux and choked on everything but now I fear I may have pureed too much. To give an idea he will eat food to the consistency of stage 3 jars but anything more he spits out, and finger food is a definite no no. Any advice really appreciated
Thanks...

What happens if you give him something solid but dissolvable, like bread soaked in soup?

He will eat that (usually) but anything more and its a no no. I have had some luck the last few days with bits of dry toast and tiny bits of apple and halved grapes but nothing more solid at all

My DS is the same and he also had reflux. Not sure if it is a problem but I am trying not to worry about it!
