My 16 month old DD has 4 or 5 ounces of milk in a bottle when she wakes up and the same before bed. She has water in a cup with her meals during the day. The trouble is, she only seems to take a small amount of liquid when offered a cup which is why I have kept up with the morning and evening bottles. I have tried so many different cups (including the doidy) with the same result. If I let her hold the cup she takes a few sips then plays with the cup or throws it across the room. I have tried milk in a sippy cup and she will take about half an ounce before losing interest. She doesn't really want to hold the milk in a bottle either and prefers me to feed her even though I know she can hold it!
How do I encourage her to have all her drinks from a cup and not play with it?

Have you tried giving her warm drinks instead of cold? Luke warm water or diluted fruit juice goes down much better in our household.

Thanks MaElsie, I'd not thought about temperature actually...will give that a go although she won't take warm milk from a cup only a bottle. I have tried adding a splash of fruit juice to her water (even squeezing fresh clementine juice into her water) but to no avail. She would really rather play with her drinks.
